The Sphero team is out in San Francisco for Microsoft’s Build Developer conference this week, and we have some exciting news! We’re happy to announce official support for Windows Surface tablet and Phone in the form of a software developer kit (SDK). Using Microsoft’s new RFCOMM, we were able to build the communications layer required to control Sphero in a matter of minutes. This gave us more time to make it easy for developers to work with Sphero and the new Windows SDK. We hope to release an official app in the coming weeks, and look forward to building even more apps and providing continued support for the SDK in the future.
Sphero was also featured in three sessions yesterday, including the “What’s New In Windows” keynote. In addition, Sphero’s 150 lb cousin, The Peacekeeper, is rolling around the conference and will continue making appearances throughout the show. If you’re at Build, come see us in gaming lounge in the Big Room! If you’re lucky, our developers just might let you take a test drive.
